Exhale is my outlet for coming to grips with concerns for the current future of our environment. It feels like a bombardment of fires, earthquakes, tornadoes. Mother Earth is speaking loudly and we should be listening.

The essential elements of earth, air, and water are all in jeopardy.

Each layer begins with a deep breath and ends in an action. Water and air play an integral part in moving natural pigments on the surface, along with educated chance (Pollock’s methods were calculated and masterful). I do not think about or choose color as others might. Each natural substance, in relationship to others, ultimately dictates the final work’s form.
